October - National Pizza Month!

October is National Pizza Month!!! 94% of Americans eat pizza at least once per month.  This equals to about 45 slices of pizza per person, each year which is about 100 acres of pizza per day or 350 slices per second!  The two most common styles of pizza in Italian cuisine are Roman & Napoli style.

Roman Pizza –Rome is in the central region of Italy and the pizzas made there are usually made thin with a crispy crust. These pizzas are generally cooked at a lower temperature, around 500-600 degrees Fahrenheit, for a longer period of time, thus the crispier crust.

Napoli Pizza –Napoli is located in the southern region of Italy and the pizzas there are made with a fluffier crust. The center of the pizza is still thin, but not as much as a roman pizza. These pizzas are usually made with specialty pizza ovens which cook at much higher temperatures of over 800 degrees Fahrenheit.

We serve Napoli style pizzas at all our locations. Our pizza crust is about ¾-1” around the edge of the pizza. We cut our dinner pizzas to 8 pieces, and lunch special pizzas to 6 pieces.Caputo flour is an Italian flour specifically used to make pizza dough. We use only Caputo flour for all our pizzas.

Interesting fact: In Italy, pizzas are served whole and eaten with a knife and fork. Eating pizza by the slice is an American thing.

To celebrate National Pizza Month, we serve special pizzas:
